Homeschool Mother's Journal

Seriously, every time I look at the calendar another month has come and gone. I didn’t even realize March was here until the 3rd. With a new month comes a new edition of this journal I’m attempting to keep. In my life this month… I never expected to be one of those crazy party planning moms, but it turns out I am. We are in full sweet-sixteen planning mode. When our oldest girl turned 16 four years ago we seem to have set an expectation at the type of party for the rest of the girls. This month we will be preparing all the decorations, andREAD MORE

I’m happy to say that after a VERY slow start this year we’re finally back into full school mode, and we’re still having a great time. Here’s what’s happening in our home this month. In my life this month… This month an aunt of mine will be making the 5,000 mile trip from Bolivia to the United States for the first time. I’m really enjoying being an auntie these days, specially because of the new babies. Since my youngest is already 9, it’s been a long time since we’ve had babies in the house. I can absolutely say, that it was more work than I remember.  I don’t think I have the energy for a brand new baby at this age, I’m sure glad I had mine as young as I did On  Monday, we started our last week of homeschool, and atREAD MORE

Our first week of school of 2016 definitely did not go as planned. Fail number 1: Orientation!  On Monday, I had planned on seeing my college kids financial aid advisor to get things finalized and pay an enrollment fee. “It’ll take 1 hour at most”, I said to my father in law as I left him with my girls  in the morning. That would be just enough time to get their independent subjects done. When we arrived on campus, my daughter’s file was not ready, and were told we were late for new student orientation. We were quickly whisked off to get her student ID and ended up rushingREAD MORE
