My Favorite Posts of 2016 | The Musings of Mum

Last week I shared our Top 10 Posts, based on your shares, likes and visits. Today, it’s my turn to share my favorites. Coincidentally, every series I wrote in 2016, turned out to be in my top 10. 10. Summer Homeschool Prep Series This was my first series ever. I’m a planner, scheduler, list maker, box checker, you name it. I’ll admit it’s not my best work, but it’s what kicked of my serious blogging year. 9. Christmas in Bolivia I loved writing this post, because it brought me back to my roots, my people, my land. And the fact that it’s all about Christmas, was a big plus. 8. Self-Care Tips For Moms This post was as much for me, as it was for every mom out there. I wear a million hats on a daily basis. This reminded me to take good care of me. 7. Supplies For Homeschooling On The Go The girls and I are always on our way somewhere. This past year was full of unexpected changes for our family; and though in the beginning things looked grim, the Lord blessed the final outcome. This was also the year in which I finally started to blog regularly, something I’d been wanting to do for years. I want to thank you, my readers for your support and encouragement in this season, and I can’t begin to explain how exited I am about what is coming in 2017. Here are your top posts from 2016. 10. The Importance of Chores Yes, we all want to serve our families, children included; however failing to teach them to serve others will only hurt them in the end.   9. Worship Through Song Series I originally intended to take the 31 writing day challenge and post every single day in October but it was much more difficult than I expected. Instead I shared 20 worship songs that deeply move me to a closer relationship with the One who came as a vulnerable baby, and mightily saved my life.   8. Pre-School Christmas Crafts Minimal supplies, and prep time, perfect crafts for your homeschool or Sunday school.   7. Curriculum Choices Our curriculum choices for thisREAD MORE

Blogs had become my primary source of information for all things homeschooling for some time, and I had developed friendships with many bloggers over the years. It was then that I first heard of the 2:1 Conference. As October approached my Facebook, Twitter and Persicope feeds were swarmed by conference posts. With no ticket, and no real direction to my blogging I missed out, but made a mental note to attend the following year. What is 2:1? “The 2:1 Conference is a faith-based conference for homeschooling parents who blog (not just about homeschooling), or are active in social media.” It is based on Titus 2:1 You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.  Teaching in accordance to sound doctrine, is the core of our homeschooling mission statement. It is why I spend countless hours reading, preparing and organizing my kids curriculum. The heart of our homeschool is to do ALL things for the glory of God. The 2:1 team appliesREAD MORE
